"The NCIS mission is to investigate and defeat criminal, terrorist, and foreign intelligence threats to the United States Navy and Marine Corps, wherever they operate, ashore or afloat." http://www.ncis.navy.mil/AboutNCIS/Today'sNCIS/Pages/default.aspx In NCIS you are introduced to a group of people with completely different personalities who some how are able to mesh together into one big unusual family. The "Alfa" the man in charge of the dysfunctional group is Gibbs or Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a no nonsense type of guy who is usually a step ahead of everyone else. Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo or Tony a smart alec agent and Special Agent Ziva David a bad ass chick are always bumping heads with each other. Special Agent Timothy McGee is the technology guy usually picked on DiNozzo for being the geek of the group but McGee usually comes out on top and gets DiNozzo back. Abby Sciuto and Dr. Donald Mallard or Ducky are the ones who analyze the evidence and keep the group somewhat sane in investigations. The show has an act for a dry sense of humor and this keeps you intrigued on how these group of people actually work together. It also keeps you guessing on what is to happened next, the different locations and scenes keeps your imagination rolling and curious to what will happened next. The suspense and thrill is what keeps me watching over and over again. I'm sure once you begin to watch it you wont be able to switch the channel.

Op Ed Articles
I was able to analyze and get information on these three op ed articles: "Snyder vs. Phelps at the Supreme Court: a 1st Amendment test", "New York is Yours for the Taking", and "Why I can't quit Facebook."
The first article, "Snyder vs. Phelps at the Supreme Court: a 1st Amendment test", Phelps and his family would protest on the, "...hatred for the gays and lesbians, Catholics, Jews, the U.S. government...and Swedes." The audience of their choice is people at funerals of fallen soldiers. Albert Snyder was attending his son Matthew's funeral who was a Marine lance corporal. Phelps' family traveled from Kansas to Maryland to interrupt and ruin the funeral by yelling "God hates you" and "You're going to hell". At the end of this article the author states his opinion saying how wrong and ruthless this act is and that respect for the fallen should be huge to the people of this country. The logos in this piece portrays the facts and the result of this event that is unfolding. The pathos is a huge roll in the this article pulling on the heart of the readers to feel for the family at their son's funeral and give the reader the feeling of an angry confusion of why some people would ever do such a thing. the author does give out a sense of ethos and it definitely keeps the reader's interest in this article. I do agree with the argument and I believe that it is a sound argument because the author states very clearly his side of his position and he has given several facts to back up his statement.

The second article, "New York Is Yours for the Taking", by Sloane Crosley is mainly about how we should trust that no one would ever take our stuff, but in reality distrust plays a big part in today's society and that "...most of the time our ego is warranted." The logos in this article give the reader both sides of the spectrum of trusting and common sense in situations that we go through our daily lives and that we can misjudge a person at times too quickly. The pathos that is portrayed is that it makes the reader think how we are quick to judge someone but then again our common sense is always needed in our daily lives. The author I believe did bring our the ethos in the article, the humor and straight to the point personality was brought our and it kept my attention all the way through. I believe that this is a sound argument and it gives out details that are able to prove her point throughout the article.

The last article "Why I can't quit Facebook", by Meghan Daum is about why many people, including the author, won't or can't quit Facebook. "The more powerful it becomes as a tool for its users, the more powerful it becomes as a weapon against its nonusers." Facebook is not about being up to date in the technology world but "...it's about being a responsible, modern, civilized person." In the end it has become a need. The logos of the article are about Facebook and how it has become a need for so many people. The pathos leans more towards the need of this Facebook source and how we rely on it so much. Daum demonstrated ethos well. She kept my attention throughout the whole piece and gave out great facts on why we tend to stay on the Facebook path. i believe that the argument was sound and she gave great detail to her piece to prove her point.

Who Am I??
This weekend I took the Enneagram Test and found out what personality this test showed I am. According to this test I am a type 1: Perfectionism, which I had never put together as being me until I took the quiz. When I started to think about this as being my one main personality trait it really truly did not seem to fit. There are things such as trying to stay organized and/or do something right the first time I do it but that was all that I could come up with that would fit the description of being a perfectionism. The other two personality traits that I scored high on were type 2; helpfulness and type 6; anxiety. I have always leaned towards being helpful and putting someone first before myself. That is just how I was raised in my family and that is who we are, our needs would come last after everyone else was taken care of. Anxiety is a trait that unfortunately is a part of my personality. I tend to worry about others too much and in certain situations I tend to think the worst possible scenarios are going to happen, but hope that they never come true. This has been a part of my personality that I have tried to rein in and just try to go with the flow. I just need to remember to accept things as they happen and make the best of it and try to control only the things I have control over.

Believing in "Invisible Labor"
I do believe that we as a whole choose to make trash invisible. It is gross and chaotic and many people choose to not deal with the situation. In the article it states that many people who do become or who were already garbage men and/or women are labeled as people who have a job position that is nasty and disgusting. However it is important to all of our physical conditions and wellbeing that the trash around our communities is being taken care of. The article also states that it can become an "invisible labor". If it is done properly and the right way then it becomes an object that isn't seen and the labor is done. It really does come down to common sense and if you are on top of the condition then there shouldn't be a problem. I believe greatly in the words that the article states that it can be "invisible labor". If it comes to the point that you are not able to get into a room in your house because of all the trash that has piled up then it's a problem. It all comes down to laziness and not having the respect to your belongings and other things around you. If it gets done right away then there should be no worries on this problem again.

Logging 101
I had no idea what I was going to write for my sustainability paper and to make it personal was making it much more harder than it needed to be. Then I began to think of what in the world my family and I have done in the past that would help write the 3,000 word essay. After my little panic attack I started to remember when I was younger and on most weekends early in the morning either the whole family or just my sister and I would go out with dad to hunt for firewood. This then brought me to the idea of writing about back in the day when my dad used to log for a living. So I have decided to write about my dad and the logging industry in Montana and how it has uses responsible harvesting.

Those Good Ole' Bananas
Remember when you were in elementary school when you did the adding and subtracting, and creating those crazy art projects (that somehow have been able to stay together all these years) and at the end of the day you head home to your afternoon snack that either your mom or dad would put out for you? What would those snacks be? In my family both my sister and I would usually come home to a banana for each of us. not until now did I realize what all a banana can do for you, the history of how the banana became the banana of today and how it can even keep you safe.
The banana, which was first recognized around 4,000 years ago in Malaysia, was thought of at first as a dessert. However, after soon finding out it never needed to be chilled, many more became transported and it quickly became a staple food. The yellow banana that we eat today was actually the outcome of an experiment that a banana farmer decided to do by mixing his own green bananas to the already cooking bananas. As for taking care of our bodies, researchers believe that the banana is able to help resist some diseases and to give out defensive vaccines. So when thinking about what snack we should have today, maybe go with a banana. In the long run it is much more healthy than a sugary cookie!

About Me and What I Like to Read
Hi! My name is Chelsey Denzin, I was born in Helena, Montana and raised there for awhile till my family and I moved to Spokane, Washington. I am an outdoors kind of girl; I like to go four wheeling, tubing and snowmobiling. One of these times I would like to go paintballing when the time is right and I have found a passion for painting this last spring.
What I like to usually read are mystery books. They always keep you in suspense and keep your attention through the whole book. How I read...depends on if I'm reading a book that keeps me interested, then I'm engrossed into the book. If it is a text book of some kind my mind does tend to wonder a lot of the time and I catch myself skimming through and hit the highlights of the section but I do usually go through the same section over and over again to make sure I have somewhat of an understanding to what the class might be doing.
